Regardless of who you are or what you do, time is of the essence. When working with multiple IT companies, you will have multiple account managers, multiple invoices and multiple perspectives. Tasks begin to get difficult to track and mistakes begin to pile up. In terms of time and stress management, an array of providers will always be more challenging than a single IT company.
Wasting time is always frustrating, wasting money is simply foolish. In general, making sure your hardware is compatible with your software is no easy feat, it’s even tougher when blindfolded.
By working with multiple IT companies you can try to make sure all components of your infrastructure are compatible with one another but when costs are substantial, is that a risk you are willing to take?
The main concern is that each provider will have their own specific agenda and that’s when both money and time start to get wasted. What usually ends up happening is one IT company ends up contradicting the others and the chaos ensues. It winds up being a very slippery slope and can either (make or) break your business.
I guess the more appropriate question would be, why wouldn’t you go to a one stop shop for an IT Provider? One team for your managed services, support, solutions, consulting, hosting, procurement and accounting. There is no need to make things more difficult than they need to be, sometimes less really is more.
